Nissan has just unveiled the 2025 version of its legendary Frontier. The Japanese automaker's midsize pickup truck receives several small upgrades that make it more appealing than ever.

The first thing that stands out is the new burnt orange color that the brand offers for the model's body. Then, there's the front fascia, which has been slightly redesigned to make the truck even more imposing than before. Finally, the Japanese automaker has added new wheels to the PRO-4X version, one of the most popular in the lineup.

The interior hasn't undergone major changes, but the Japanese manufacturer's truck benefits from small technological improvements. The Around View® system is more efficient and even works when the Frontier is moving at higher speeds. It now comes standard with a 12.3-inch touchscreen for its multimedia system, featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a new addition for 2025. Nissan has also made the sliding rear window standard, another feature that is unfortunately offered as an option by most of its competitors.

Mechanically, the 2025 Nissan Frontier still offers a 3.8-liter V6 engine that produces 310 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque. It's paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission that, I must admit, is particularly effective. Thanks to some small technical improvements, the brand's engineers have been able to increase the Frontier's towing capacity, which is now 6,850 pounds. This makes it more competitive, but also more versatile.

PRO 4X and PRO 4X Luxury

Nissan is once again emphasizing the PRO 4X and PRO 4X Luxury versions this year. These are easy to distinguish from the others thanks to their orange tow hooks. Additionally, both versions offer a long-wheelbase double cab configuration, which allows for a 6-foot bed. Once again, this helps the Japanese automaker's truck stand out from the competition, and it's an excellent marketing move by Nissan.

Nissan will announce the price range for the 2025 Frontier later this year. The first units are expected to reach Nissan dealerships in the coming weeks.
